1

Let's start by making a small oblong shape for the body outline of your new sea species.

2

Next, begin sketching out the actual shape or structure of the blue slug's body. There should be nubs on the sides for each dorsal that the animal has. There should also be a tail.

3

You will now draw out the fins which are very similar to frill like feathers. Take your time so you end up with an even pair of fins. Notice that the fingers or tentacles are larger in the middle and smaller near the body.

4

Draw out the back fins or feet the exact same way with the only difference being the size.

5

Yup, once again. You will need to draw the same type of frills like you did previously. The tail tufts are much smaller and look more condensed.

6

Lastly, draw the dark, thick, bold stripes down the entire back or body of the blue sea slug, then add the eyes on the sides of the head. Erase the mistakes that you made so you have a neat image to color in.

7

Here is what your new species looks like when finished. Now you can have even more fun as you tackle the task of coloring in your work.

Description: The animal you are looking at is in fact a real living species. To my surprise this sea critter is actually a living breathing slug that lives in the waters of the East and South Coast of South Africa, the European waters, the east coast part of Australia, and Mozambique. Today I will be showing you "how to draw a blue sea slug", step by step or for professional terms the Glaucus Atlanticus. These vibrant looking small slugs look like they came from the James Cameron movie 'Avatar'. People have also said that the blue sea slug looks like a Pokemon species because of the finger like tentacles or limbs. Despite what my version looks like in this drawing lesson, the Glaucus Atlanticus has a violent colored hue stripes over a greyish silver body. Their heads are small, but proportionate with their bodies. These critters only grow to be three centimeters. They are a truly amazing species that most people have never seen before. Even the folks that live near their habitats have never come across the blue sea slug. I really enjoyed drawing this fantasy looking animal because it's almost like drawing something from lore that really does exist. I will be back with another amazing species, but this time it will be a plant instead of an animal. Adios people!
